The History of Christian Nationalism and Homeschooling in the US

REGULÄR
SEMINAR

12:15 - 13:45 Uhr / UniMS

This course will explore battles over evolution, desegregation, and homeschooling in the United States during the twentieth century. Each of these battles were waged by a group scholars refer to as Christian nationalists. This discussion-based seminar is not restricted to the educational side of this movement, but will also look at its origins and implications as a political force. Primary source discussions will look at textbooks and activist material, as well as speeches. Additionally, this course will delve into the intellectual origins of the movement and its continued influence today. This seminar will be conducted in English and all assignments are expected to be conducted in English. International students are especially welcome! This is a reading-intensive seminar and students will be expected to participate in class discussions.
