The seminar examines the intersections of migration and gender, focusing on processes of identity negotiation and self-organization among migrant women in Germany. Drawing on intersectional approaches, it analyzes how migrant women are positioned within different social contexts and how they position themselves. Particular attention is paid to challenges arising from gendered expectations, as well as to forms of self-organization among migrant care workers.
